The lake market has reached record numbers in January. Over $12 million in Rabun County lake home sales were recorded during the month. Historically, January is slow, and these sales could bode well for the next eleven months. There are still five lake homes pending sale that will close in the next 30-45 days, and if the weather grants us a break, we will see buyers continue to pursue lake homes for the coming spring season.

“Every rose has its thorns”…..inventory of existing lake homes for sale is experiencing a decrease overall, and that may have an impact on potential buyers for the rest of 2018. Economic indicators, a booming stock market, and increasing home prices in the Atlanta market will hopefully continue to be the tonic for a continued upward surge in the Rabun County lake market.
