Lake Burton is the first lake out of six managed by the Georgia Power Company in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. The headwaters of the Tallulah River spill into the Northernmost end of the lake providing fresh water, great fishing, and a beautiful setting.
Georgia Power occasionally ‘draws down’ Lake Burton so that lake residents have the opportunity to perform new construction and general boathouse and retaining wall maintenance.
The lake boasts a thriving community of many diverse residents including politician Sam Nunn, and football coaches Vince Dooley and Nick Saban. Homes on the lake range in value from $500,000 to over ten million.
