June 2020 Sales Update

The Sahara dust passed through Rabun County last weekend to provide us with some memorable sunrise and sunset views and remind us that Mother Nature is in charge and that change is constant.
With COVID-19 still haunting us, we see changes in ourselves and our buyers, as we all adapt to an uncertain future. We have never been so grateful to call Rabun County home. Like many of you, we have been working on our nests and learning to embrace spending more time at home. Cleaning, cooking, gardening, and improving account for the little bit of spare time we have now.
Our time now is primarily filled with helping buyers find their new nests in Rabun County. Our buyers have taken this moment in history to evaluate their life — deciding to seek the peace and safety of a home in the mountains, creating an unprecedented demand for all types of properties. Our sellers have also taken this time to realize that they want to be closer to their family or find a place at the beach that they have always craved.
The lake sales in the last thirty days have been tremendous and continue to increase across all the lakes. We see buyers reacting much quicker than ever before, and properties going under contract in record time with expedited closing times. The recent number of pending sales point to a record year for lake sales. With all the latest sales, the inventory is shrinking at a dramatic rate.
