The sun is shining as we write this, but there is still damage and flooding in Rabun County. At times like these, the strength of our community shines as we all band together to help neighbors find lost canoes or raise their boats further above the water.
The demand for our lakes will not slow down due to this one flood — the worst we have seen since 2004 when hurricane Ivan caused flooding and high lake levels. So far in 2018, 37 lake homes have sold and only 24 have been listed for sale, further decreasing the inventory. To underscore the demand, only 22 homes had sold at this point in time in 2017 compared to 37 for 2018!
We are entering the summer period and most buyers hit pause for a moment and resume their search in late August. However, new listings at the right price are going to generate offers at any time of the year. The Lake Burton market is VERY dynamic at the moment and buyers are clamoring for more inventory.

LAKE RABUN
To say that Lake Rabun inventory is meager at the moment is an understatement. Sales remain strong, even with the current low inventory. In 2017, only two homes had sold by the end of May, compared to six that have sold so far this year. The Lake Team has been involved in EVERY sale this year on Lake Rabun, with the exception of one private transaction, by representing five successful sellers and two successful buyers.
